Co-Creating Solutions in Low Agency Contexts

by Baijesh Arayil Ramesh, India

In many lived realities shaped by systemic barriers, injustice, violence, marginalization, and trauma, individuals may come to carry a diminished sense of agency. This diminished sense may arise from a low estimate of one’s own capacity, a persistent lack of self-efficacy, or from the disorienting experience of agency itself feeling distant- almost unreal. Individuals in low agency contexts often exist in this "in-between" state- caught between systemic constraints and personal aspirations, between internalized limitations and nascent possibilities.

This workshop offers a reflective space for participants to identify contexts in their personal or professional spaces where a diminished sense of agency may be present or felt. Through diverse case studies from clinical, community and organizational settings the workshop invites participants to explore context-sensitive ways to recognize, co-create and (re)build agency from a solution focused framework.
