The space between systems: co-creating collaboration with families and authorities by Jannie Lund-Nielsen, Denmark
At Move1, we work in the “in-between”. Between what is said and what is meant. Between the family’s lived experience and the system’s requirements. Between professional concern and hope for change.
In this session, we explore how a solution-focused, systemic approach can support meaningful partnerships between families, frontline practitioners, and child protection authorities. Working with complex family situations – often involving supervision orders, court-related visitation, or intensive family support – requires more than procedures and protocols. It requires relational leadership in the space between.
We will share how the “in-between” becomes a place of co-creation rather than conflict, when professionals act as bridges – not judges. You’ll hear examples of how hope and accountability can go hand in hand, how change can emerge through shared understanding, and how professionals can position themselves in ways that invite agency from everyone involved.
Together, we’ll reflect on: - What it means to work in-between the system and the family - How the solution-focused mindset supports trust, safety, and ownership - What kind of conversations open up new relational spaces.
Whether you work in social services, mental health, education, or family support, this session offers inspiration and practical reflections on how we can embrace the “in-between” as a space for dignity, dialogue, and development.
