“Between the noses” -Relationship as a motivational booster in the school context by Katrin Berger, Germany
Denmark recently banned cell phones from schools for the most part. A role model, in my opinion!
I want to make today's children and young people want analog interactions again. I see this as one of the great challenges of our time. Children and young people today often get distraction, self-efficacy and rewards, as well as contact with others, in a less risky and also less stressful way in their digital worlds. And when they disappear behind their screens, they have correspondingly fewer analog relationship experiences with their families.
But if real relationships are to become a motivational boost for individual and collective development, how can schools position themselves? What contributes to experiencing and learning encouraging, “real” interactions and wanting to continue having them? The solution-focused approach has a lot to offer here!
The workshop will provide insights into current solution-focused practice in schools in Bremen. There will also be fun, space for collegial exchange and one or two cooperation games. We will look at how we can strengthen relationships in the school context and how we can awaken lightness and team spirit.
Katrin Berger, born in 1976, qualified educationalist, family therapist (SG) and mediator. I work at ReBUZ Bremen as a school counsellor (a service of the Bremen Education Authority) and am the owner of the ‘Lösungswerkstatt’ / Training and Mediation. It is important to me to promote a co-operative, solution-oriented and supportive culture, both between children and young people as well as in teams and between different network partners.
My aim is to ensure that cooperation is meaningful and enjoyable and that existing strengths and potential can be effectively realised. Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
